A bit of honest wisdom from Alice

Today’s #blogtober14 prompt is “my favorite quote and why”. Being an avid reader, there are a number of quotes that are close to my heart. I collect quotes and sayings that I identify with and this has always been one of my favorites. I’ve even got a print of it in my etsy shop.

I think the reason it resonates with me so much is because its so simple, yet so powerful. It’s so matter-of-fact and so honest. It tells you that you have to look forward, that there is no going back. Which is so true. You grow and change as a person every single day and there is no use in looking back. You can’t become what you once were, you can’t go back to a different time or place, there is only moving forward. That’s an incredibly powerful statement. It’s something that I have to remind myself quite often, that people change; we evolve and we move on. That can be both good and bad, but it’s the truth and there is no going back.

  • This is a great quote, and one that I can definitely see meaning in for my life :)

  • Love this quote! It’s such a powerful reminder that everyday we go through experiences that change, mold, make and grow us.

  • so great!

  • Great quote! I love Lewis Carroll/Alice in Wonderland. This is one of my favorite quotes

  • Great classic quote. I every page of this book could easily be a great quote. We change & adjust every day and it’s a great thing.

  • I adore this quote! Whenever I get hung up on something that happened in the past I try to think about how different my life is now and how much my past experiences have helped me grow.
