Dinner at Thai 102 Degrees

Dinner at Thai 102 Degrees

The other night I picked up Ivan from class and we both were in the mood to eat. But honestly, when are we not in the mood to eat. He suggested that we go get some Thai food, which I’ve always wanted to try. I’ve had a few Thai dishes before, but my experience with the cuisine is very limited.

We went to a Thai restaurant that I’ve driven by a lot in downtown East Lansing; Thai 102 Degrees. The menu was mostly foreign to me, but I located a dish that sounded familiar. I once saw the chef on “Easy Chinese” make a dish called Drunken Noodles. I remember it looking delicious, so I decided to give it a try. In the end, it didn’t look anything like what I saw on TV, but it was still pretty good.

We had a bit of a go around with the employee about what level of spicy we wanted; I was fine with mild+, but Ivan was going to try straight up spicy. The employee warned him that it is extremely hot and informed him that they would not take the dish back if it was too spicy for him. He finally relented and went down a notch with his coconut chicken.

IMG_4271My dinner ended up being the right heat level for me, it was definitely spicy, but I didn’t feel like my face was going to burn off. I know my limits. All in all, it was a good meal and I look forward to trying more Thai dishes! What are some of your favorite Thai dishes?
