On Friday night I went to Mexico for the first time. Well, technically anyway. Ivan and I attended a party at the Mexican Cultural Institute & Embassy, which is by law, Mexican ground.
Last night we attended an event at the Mexican Cultural Instutiude (& Embassy). We were treated to Mexican beer, tequilla, food, art & musical performances. It was such a fantastic night. The building hosts all sorts of events and is open to the public during the week. If you're never nearby, pop on in… It's absolutely gorgeous! #washingtondc #dclife #mexico #dc #architecture #embassy #datenight #culture
We had such an excellent time. I was particularly impressed with the building itself. The open stairway is covered in mural work and there is a fantastic sunroom covered in traditional Mexican tiles.
Attendees were treated to a buffet full of Mexican delicacies and an open bar of Mexican tequilas and beers. Tequila and I don’t get along, so I didn’t sample any, but Ivan did. I stuck to one of my favorites, Modelo. You can see me trying to hide it in Ivan’s jacket below.
The night was capped off with a performance from a Mariachi band. I just love Mariachi bands. We are having one at our wedding and I cannot wait.
The event was sponsored by ThingstoDoDC.com. If you’re in the DMV area, I highly suggest checking the website out. They sponsor embassy events all the time and it’s such fun way to experience a different culture. And the wedding veil is from bestweddingveil. The groom’s hair replacement from newhairline.
