H54F: George Washington & Seth Meyers

H54F: George Washington & Seth Meyers

1. Mount Vernon
So last weekend we went to Mount Vernon for the first time. For those of you who don’t know, Mount Vernon is the George Washington Estate. Ivan and I went with two of our friends on Saturday. If you are ever in the area, I’d highly recommend it. It rained the entire time we were there, but it was still an amazing experience.

Checking out Mount Vernon. It's even beautiful in the rain. #Virginia #georgewashington #president #tourist #mountvernon

My favorite part was probably seeing the family tomb. I know it sounds a bit odd; but George and Martha are in raised tombs right in front of your face. When you stand at the entrance, George Washington is literally two feet in font of you.

2. Late Night with Seth Meyers
On Monday night I was lucky enough to score us tickets to see a taping of Late Night with Seth Meyers. You can read the full recap in my post about it, but just know it was awesome.

Made it! #latenightwithsethmeyers #dc #sethmeyers #sethindc @latenightseth

3. New Phone
I finally upgraded my phone this week. I’ve been rocking an iphone5 for quite a while and the battery just wasn’t charging anymore. Plus I’ve been having weird issues with my apple id, so I decided to go with the Samsung Galaxy S7. Guys, it’s awesome. I’m kind of obsessed with it.

4. Dog Sitting
Ivan and I decided to sign up to dog sit on Rover.com & DogVacay.com. They are both huge here and we’ve already got a dog guest for this weekend. We’re watching a german shepherd, Rex, Saturday night and our dog, Kidd, is super excited. Rex came over for a “meet-n-great” on Wednesday and they got along great. I’m think this will be a great way to earn a little extra spending money.

5. Alexandria Ghost Stories
On Saturday night I went on a halloween ghost tour of Old Town Alexandria with a friend of mine. We live right on the border of Old Town and Del Ray Alexandria, so we spend a lot of time down there. It was a fun experience and got me into the halloween mood. I love halloween, it’s one of my favorite holidays.
