H54F: New York, Here We Come

1. Bright Lights, Big City
Earlier this week we bought our bus tickets to New York! Ivan has multiple friends who are living there this summer and we’ll be staying with one of them. Neither of us have been there before, so I’m really excited. We’re leaving friday after work, so we won’t get there until about 10. We have to leave again late monday afternoon, but I’m so excited. Even though we’ll only be there for one full day, I am so pumped.

2. Union Market
I’ve really been trying to cook dinner at home for us, but the other night I was just not feeling it. I decided I’d pick Ivan from work so that we could get food as quickly as possible. We’re not too far from Union Market so I thought it would be a fun place to get something (non-fast food) quickly. Boy was I right. There were so many fantastic choices – we needed up at TaKorean for Korean Tacos. We didn’t actually get tacos… we got bowls, but you get the point. It was delicious. We then got AMAZING ice cream from another vendor. I know I’ll be back, I wanted all the food. All of it.

Dinner & dessert at Union Market! Time for some Korean Tacos 😬 #unionmarket #washingtonDC

3. Goodwill Haul
Guys, I’m obsessed with goodwill. I have been for some time. And you know what? The Goodwills in DC are awesome. Every Tuesday they give 25% off all donated clothing items and I always end up walking away with a giant haul. This week I got a pair of pink J. Crew shorts, 5 dresses and some ties for Ivan. My favorite is this Calvin Klein dress. Mine is black but I could only find the Khaki version online and it didn’t really photograph well on the hanger. Mine is black and the double collar underneath is the khaki color. It retailed at $128 and I paid $6.74. Not too bad.

4. Back on the Book Bandwagon
I did a lot of reading in May. I was going great with my reading challenge and then June hit. I got busy, my parents came to visit for a week and reading kind of fell to the wayside. However, I finished two book this week and I feel great about it. I started them quite a while ago, so it was nice to complete them.

5. Back to Running
Just like with my reading, I haven’t been making time for my jogging. I was doing so well before we came to DC and it makes me sad that I’ve been slipping. I’ve been running on the treadmill mostly now, but I’ve been doing it. I’ve ran the past 3 days and I just genuinely feel better.

Today I am linking up with:

The Farmer’s Wife for Oh, Hey Friday!

  • New York sounds like so much fun! I have never been before, but I hope to visit someday! And those are some great deals from Goodwill! I have only been in Goodwill a couple of times and never found anything good. Have a great week!
