H54F: Running Down a Dream

1. Etsy, Etsy, Etsy
I’ve been working like a mad woman on my etsy store. I’ve been adding lots of new material and revamping my listing photos. Here are a few of my favorite newbies. Does anyone else sell on etsy? What do you do for advertising? I’ve been posting on twitter, instagram, pinterest & wanelo… anything else I should be doing?

2. I ran my first 5k. Guys.. that’s 3 MILES.
If you follow me on instagram, you may have seen my post already but… I actually completed my first 5k this week. I’ve gotten close before, but I made myself stick it out this time. I didn’t stop running once. I was practically crawling along at a snails pace – but I did it. It may not seem like a huge accomplishment, but for most of my life… I’ve HATED running. Now I actually enjoy it. It’s such a strange feeling. Hopefully I can get a few more of them in before I run my first race on the 4th! It’s the Dino Dash… are any of my Michigan darlings running it? It goes through MSU’s campus.

Just ran my first #5k! #sweatpink #jogging #running #runhappy #fitness #determination

3. Business Cards
I also ordered some new cards from Moo.com. They have the BEST products. The new cards reflect my branding at Midwest Darling better, so I’m pretty excited to see how they turn out.

4. New Workout Duds
It’s funny… I just did a post about where to find cheap workout clothes and the next day I bought 4 pairs of workout bottoms from a place I forgot to mention – amazon. I found some AMAZING deals on asics capris/running tights… I’m talking like $10-$15 a pair. Crazy, right? I might have to send some of them back, but it’s worth a try. I’m so picky with my workout bottoms. I prefer leggings/capris because I do NOT have a thigh gap and my thighs rub together in shorts. Which as you may or may not know, sucks. I have the hardest time finding leggings that aren’t see-through though. I’ve had good luck with asics in the past, so I thought I’d give them a try again.

5. Project Time
On Wednesday night I had my friend Jacquelline over and we worked on a DIY project. We made race bib displays for all of my upcoming bibs. I’m super serious about this running thing guys. I’ve signed up for both the Dino Dash and  the Lansing Turkey Trot and am considering signing up for a trail run 5k and a 5k that I can run with Kiddo. He loves to run. Plus that particular race would benefit the humane society where we got him. We’ll see. They just add up… who would have thought running would be such an expensive hobby.

Today I am linking up with:

The Farmer’s Wife for Oh, Hey Friday!

  • If you haven’t tried Fabletics for workout clothes, you should give it a try! I was hesitant about the whole sign up thing but I’ve been so happy with everything I’ve ordered! (Last month in the Labor Day Sale I got 6 pairs of crops/leggings for under $70!) They are super thick and don’t pill!

  • My in laws moved to Illinois from Nevada! How cute!

  • Congratulations on the 5k run! I used to be such a runner but unfortunately fell out of the habit! I need to get back into running!

    • Thanks Chelsea! I really started this spring, but didn’t progress much over the summer. I kept it up, but I didn’t push myself. It’s getting easier and easier though lol My body just feels better when I’m running on a regular basis
