1. Momument Tours
Yesterday I spent the early afternoon visiting some more of the monuments. It was a rainy, slightly chilly day, so there weren’t many people around. Which was absolutely perfect. I was able to make it to the Korean War Veterans Memorial, the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial, The FDR Memorial and the Jefferson Memorial. The rain held off for me and I was able to get back home without getting drenched.
2. United States Postal Museum
Earlier in the week I decided to go through the United States Postal Museum. I didn’t really think it was something that would interest me, but it was actually pretty entertaining.
3. Dinner together
Ivan’s schedule has been fairly regular this week, so we’ve been able to eat dinner together. We went out on Tuesday to a place down the street and had these incredible tacos… it’s one of my new favorite restaurants.
4. Tour De Fat
Last Saturday we headed down to Yards Park and hung out for Tour De Fat. I hadn’t heard about it before that day, so I didn’t really know what to expect. If it’s coming to a city near you, I’d recommend it. There was a lot going on and things were reasonably priced. No cover charge and $5 for a beer.
My parents finalized their plans to come visit. They’ll be here June 11th-16th, so I’m trying to hold off doing some of the things they’ll want to do. I also managed to get a time slot for us to tour the Capitol, so that’s exciting.
