High Five For Friday: Back to the Artic

High Five For Friday: Back to the Artic

1. Made in Home in one Piece
Well, I’m back in Michigan. It’s freezing. When we left Arizona on Wednesday, it was 75 degrees and lovely. When we landed in Detroit, it was a whopping 7 degrees. I am still not fully adjusted to the cold – we left MI before it actually got cold and now we’re smack dab in the middle of winter. Oh well.

2. Suns & Coyotes Games
Last weekend, Ivan and I went to both a Suns and a Coyotes game. It was my first NBA game and my second NHL game. Both teams won and it was a great way to spend our final weekend in Arizona.

3. I’ve started jogging
I’ve never liked the idea of jogging. I enjoy working out, but running…? Not so much. Unfortunately that’s all I could do over vacation and I’ve sort of warmed up to it. I’m looking forward to continuing – I just wish that it was nice out so I could run outdoors.

4. I ordered a new winter coat
I gave in and finally ordered a freaking parka. It’s just too cold out and my current winter coat doesn’t have a hood. I have an adorable Kenneth Cole Reaction long winter coat I bought from Sams a few years ago, but it doesn’t have a hood. I’m ready to sacrifice style for warmth.
5.I’ve started packing
So I’ll be moving in about a month. Ivan and I are moving in together in the fall and we’ll be needing a bigger place. I’m moving to a 2 bedroom rental house in my current neighborhood and leaving my cute little one bedroom behind. I’m excited, but I’ll definitely miss my house. It was the first (and only) place I’ve ever had by myself. I’ve always had roommates. I’m looking forward to it though!

  • Congratulations on the move! It is a big step especially to leave your first place but, I am sure it is a great step of advancement for both of you!

    • yeah, it will be good. I’m just not looking forward to having to let him help decorate ;)

  • 7 degrees? Yikes! Stay warm! :) Visiting you back from the link-up.

  • Congrats on the jogging! I love it, as well. I live where it is super cold so it really isn’t a feasible workout for me to do in the winter! Your vacation sounded awesome! Happy Friday!

    • Yeah, I’ll have to wait until it gets warm to get back outside. I’ll just go back to going to the gym. That’s what I was doing before anyways. Thanks for stopping by Ashley!

  • Wow, awesome plane picture! It’s been unbearably cold here in Jersey, too! Can’t wait for the winter to be over.

    • I always end up taking a picture of the view on a plane. I must have 20 copies of the basically the same shot. Oh well. It’s just so pretty! Thanks for stopping by :)

  • I’m right with you about running indoors! I usually do the treadmill just because then at least I can watch TV.

Thanks for linking up with H54F!

    • Yeah, I park myself in front of the tv whenever I use workout equipment. Being outside is just so much nicer.

  • I can imagine it was quite the shock to the system coming back to 7 degrees from Phoenix! Totally understand the resistance to a parka. They are always so bulky. But, if that’s the one you actually bought, that’s really cute!!! Doesn’t look bulky at all! And warm, which is the ultimate goal :)

Thank you SO MUCH for linking up with H54F! Hope to see you this Friday!
    Katie @ Cup of Tea

    • the coat arrived yesterday and it’s perfect. not bulky at all. thanks for stopping by Katie :)

  • I’d say that was a huge change 75 to 7 degrees. It has been too cold lately. I seriously need to get motivated and jog. I know I would feel so much better. Thank you so much for linking up to High Five for Friday!!!

    • Thanks for stopping by Della! Yeah, it’s been very cold lately. When I left for work this morning it was -8. I am just going to make myself go to the gym today. I packed my workout clothes with me when I left this morning and I’m going to go right after work :)
