How to Satisfy Your Wanderlust as Cheaply As Possible with Skyscanner

How to Satisfy Your Wanderlust as Cheaply As Possible with Skyscanner

I love to travel. Unfortunately, traveling can be incredibly expensive and I’m both poor and cheap. Therefore I’m a big fan of money saving travel hacks, cheats and hacks. My favorite of the bunch? Skyscanner.

Oh wonderful, glorious skyscanner. Skyscanner allows you to search flights from all airlines and a number of deal websites. You can search for an entire month or you can even select “cheapest month” and the website will find you the cheapest flight available.

You don’t even if have to put in a destination if you don’t want. If you’re just itching to go somewhere, just put in your local airport and leave the destination blank. It will find you the cheapest flights available for all sorts of places.

This website can do so many things and the interface is incredibly easy to use. Now, the fares are estimated, but I’ve always found that they are pretty spot on. They will take you directly to the airline site to book, so you don’t have to plug any information in again.

Even if you don’t book with this site, I’d advise you to check skyscanner for competitive rates. If you’re not set on your dates, you can easily see the prices for the entire month right in front of you. Maybe you’ll find that it’s way cheaper to fly the day before or the day after.

Today I am linking up for Wanderlust Wednesday with Kerri, Emily & Kate.

    1. Yeah, I hate hotels. I don’t mind old hotels, but I hate dirty ones. And the nice ones are always so expensive. I try and use air b&b when I can. It’s usually cheaper AND you get a kitchen so you don’t have to eat out every meal.

  1. I’m a bit embarrassed to admit this…but I had not heard of Skyscanner until this post. It sounds incredible! I will definitely be checking it out for our next trip! (I really should’ve used it a couple weeks ago…our flight prices were terrible!)

Thank you for introducing me to Skyscanner! :)

  2. I love that we have apps and sites to help us with deals now. This sounds awesome. I use one app called Hopper that predicts when the best time to buy my ticket should be.

  3. dropping by from the linkup-flights always seem to be the most expensive part. I’ve heard about sky scanner before, but it’s never worked our for me. I need to give it another try

  4. oh i love sky skanner! okay, i haven’t used it to actually book, but i look at it so regularly i might as well haha. it’s just so easy to use and fun to see where i can go and for how much. such a fun website! next time we have time and money for a quick trip, i might look at the everywhere function. i don’t think i could handle being that spontaneous though haha
