I’m going to go ahead and merge my September & October recap posts. September was absolutely insane and I missed the September recap… so I figured share my month with you guys now. So without further ado…
September started out with a bang. We got married on the 9th and it was absolutely perfect. I haven’t received the entire photo collection from my lovely photographers yet but here are a few sneak peek shots they let us see early :)
Our wedding video is also up. It was such a fantastic day. There were definitely a few mishaps throughout the day, but I still feel like it was perfect. I cannot wait to see all the completed pictures.
The day after we got married, we drove down to Chicago (we got married in Michigan) to catch our flight to Greece. We spent a week in Greece for our honeymoon – we stayed in Athens and we also went to Santorini. If you want to hear more about the honeymoon, I wrote a recap post on it.
I didn’t take a ton of pictures of the honeymoon, because I decided to do a honeymoon video. I just feel like it captures the spirit on the vacation a bit more. Plus, I figured I’d put it on a DVD with the wedding video. Something to show the future kids, ya know.
After September, October was pretty relaxing. I kicked the month off with a girls night out at a Halsey concert. For some crazy reason, I did not take any pictures of the evening. But it was awesome. If you ever get a chance, go see Halsey. She was fantastic live.
I also went to an Oktoberfest party at a local brewery, Port City. If you’re in the DC area I’m sure you’ve had a Port City beer at some point. They have it everywhere. My favorite is Optimal Wit and their holiday beer, Tidings. I had their special Oktoberfest beer that day though. Naturally.
We also got a fancy new bed with some of our wedding money. We’ve been using the full mattress that I had before I even met Ivan, so it was definitely time for an upgrade. Plus, because we upgraded to a queen, I got a sweet new bed frame. It’s SO much more comfortable. It’s a hybrid mattress with cooling memory foam on top. I could just stay in bed all day now. Our dog sleeps with us too, so we were super crowded in the full. I feel like I have so much more room with the queen.
What else, what else. Oh I officially changed my name with the social security office and got my new drivers license. I still haven’t gotten my new credit cards but I did get the new debit card from our bank. It’s still weird being called Mrs. Gonzalez. I’m not fully accustomed to it yet.
What else… what else. We did go out for Halloween, because duh. Halloween is my favorite. After careful consideration (on my part), we decided on going on Bugs & Lola from Space Jam. It was definitely the most comfortable costume I’ve ever rocked.
I think that’s about it. What have you guys been up to?
