Weekend Recap: Boxing & Big Screens

Weekend Recap: Boxing & Big Screens

We had a relatively relaxing weekend around here. On Friday night Ivan and I went to dinner at Southern Hospitality over in Adams Morgan. The food was pretty good and the bar restaurant had a great atmosphere. The neighborhood was great; it’s a very lively area of DC.

After dinner and we walked down to Dupont and had a few drinks at the Mad Hatter. We hung out there for a bit while we waited for open bar to start at KABIN. One of Ivan’s old fraternity brothers and his fiancé went met up with us there for a night of bar hopping. After KABIN we headed over to Lucky Bar for another round of drinks and some appetizers and then took an uber Solly’s to finish off the night.

Needless to say, we spent most of Saturday resting. We hung around the apartment for the day… I got a workout in and then we ordered dinner in and watched the fight together downstairs. Our apartment building has a big screen that we have access to and luckily nobody was using it. It was a low-key kind of night of wings, beer & boxing.

Sunday we got a quick run in and then went to see Jurassic World. We both enjoyed the movie, I’d recommend it. I’ve always been a huge fan of the original and tolerated the 3rd movie. The second – Lost World, was completely ridiculous. I thought they did a job gob with this one though… I’d definitely watch it again.

We walked over to California Tortilla for dinner. It’s a lot like Chipotle but with more options.  It was our first time there and I have to say, it was pretty good. I got a large dinner salad, chips & guacamole and a fountain drink for $12. That’s pretty good for DC.

  • That TV is huge! That’s neat that your apartment building has a big screen like that you can watch. Have a great week!

  • Ohh I don’t think we have California Tortilla here in Richmond but that sounds delicious! Hopefully it makes it’s way down south :)
