Weekend Recap: Football, Animals & Fun

Weekend Recap: Football, Animals & Fun

I spent Friday night catching up on my down time. Ivan had to work late so I took him dinner on my way to taking Kidd to the dog park. Kidd needed to burn off some energy, so we hung out there until sunset. I did some reading when we got home and then passed out at around 10, because apparently I’m an old lady.

On Saturday I woke up and got a run in. Then that afternoon, I attended the “Boo at the Zoo” event at our local zoo, Potter Park with my friend Jacquelline. It’s a family friendly halloween event where they have fun activities as well as cider and doughnuts¬†¬†available for purchase.

This little dude was my favorite. Well, besides the Red Pandas of course. But they were being poopy and wouldn’t pose for a good picture.

We each bought a cider and a doughnut and took the hayride around the zoo. We also walked around and visited the animals. We only spent about an hour and half there because we wanted to be at a bar, in front of a tv by 3:30. You see, the MSU / UofM game started at 3. So we headed over to Leo’s Outpost (which is right around the corner) and watched the game there.

Did you guys see that game? It was INSANE. MSU won it in the final 10 seconds by recovering a fumble and returning it for a touchdown. The kicker somehow missed the snap and all hell broke loose. It was crazy.

Sunday was spent catching up around the house. I went over to my parents house in the morning and did my meal planning and then my shopping with my mom. I told her about how I’ve been trying to stick to a budget and she wanted to get in on it too. So we tackled that together. Once I got home I did some laundry and some cleaning and threw dinner in the crockpot.

I’d say it was a productive and fun weekend!
