Weekending: First Ball Game of the Season

Weekending: First Ball Game of the Season

This weekend was pretty relaxing. On Friday night, Ivan and I went on a date night to a local country bar. We don’t normally go to country bars, but every once in a while we like to. They are always so relaxed and a ton of fun. We drove over to Nick’s in Alexandria and had a few beers and split some of the best fries I’ve ever had. No joke.  In a country bar of all places.

It was probably the most country country bar I’ve ever seen in person. Does that make sense? EVERYONE seemed to know how to line dance and people were good. There was a room for partner dancing and a room for line dancing and everyone was just having a boot scootin’ good time. Does anyone know how to country dance? I find it very impressive.

On Saturday morning I did my meal planning for the week and went grocery shopping. Then I think I came home and took a nap. That sounds about right.

Saturday night was a big date night guys. Ivan and I went for a 3.60 mile run. I love running at night, but I don’t like going solo. It was nice to run with Ivan because I felt safer and he pushes me to go faster. We ran through old town and down the shore of the Potomac River. This picture below is of the park, but obviously it’s during the daytime. It’s a picture I took while walking the dog friday morning. I just wanted to show you where we ran :)

Sunday was baseball day! We got up pretty early and I made us Italian veggie omelettes. I’ve got to admit something. I haven’t had an omelette since I was little. I never liked them and have refused to eat them since. However, for some reason I really just wanted to try and make an omelette Sunday.. so I did. It was bomb. I see a lot more omelettes in my future. What do you like to put in your omelettes? I want to try more.

Anyways.. back to baseball. We went to the Nationals Game on Sunday afternoon. We love going to games and it was the first one we’ve made it to this season. We played the Phillies and we won! We were down 4-3 in the 9th inning and Bryce Harper hit a home run, drove two guys in and won it for us.

Oh. We also split some amazing spicy bbq tots. I know, not the best choice. Especially after the fries. But I LOVE tots.

What did you guys do this weekend?

Today I am linking up with Healthy Diva Life for Marvelous in My Mondays & Biana at B Loved Boston for Weekending

  • Okay, the fries and the tots are making me want all of the carbs! They both look delicious!

    • hahah I definitely should not have had either. I can’t them though! Plus, it’s always worse when Ivan is with me, because he doesn’t have much restraint either ;)

  • I would have loved that bar! I’ve always wanted to learn some line dancing. And the fries look amazing. Fries are my jam. Love baseball! Looks like you had gorgeous weather for it!

    • Yeah, I was super impressed with that bar. I have NO idea how to line dance, but it was still fun. They give lessons there on certain weeknights – I’ll have to see if I can talk Ivan into going. Probably not, but it’s worth a shot ;)

  • I made tots just like that recently! Looks so good!

    • really!? I probably should start making them at home. At least I can KIND OF control how many calories I’m eating. I did make them from scratch once, but it was entirely too much effort for me lol
