Friday night was pretty chill. We went out to dinner at a local Mexican restaurant and of course, it was amazing. I’d eat Mexican food everyday if I could.
We had wanted to go on a self guided walking tour of Old Town on Saturday, but it rained most of the day. Instead we decided to hit the driving range. I’ve been wanting to try golf for a while now, so this rainy Saturday afternoon presented the perfect opportunity.
Guys, it was pretty hard. I grew up playing softball, so I had a really difficult time altering my natural bat swing to a golf swing.I had the worst time keeping my feet planted. In softball, I would always take a small hitch step before my swing. Plus, you really open your hips up in softball. You spin on both of your feet. That’s not the case with golf. Oh and you are supposed to keep your front arm straight. My body was having none of that. I had to do a mental check before every swing to make sure I wasn’t doing everything completely wrong.
I managed to get to a point where I was making contact most of the time, but I still have a long way to go. I’m excited about it though. I think it’s a nice sport to learn, because it’s a very social game and it’s something you can continue playing when you get older.
Anyways, Saturday night we went out in DC and did a bit of bar hopping. It was nice out and Ivan and I had a good time letting off some steam. We ment to meet up with a few friends, but in the end it didn’t work out. That’s alright though, we always have a good time together. First we went to Madhatter, which is bar we go to a lot in Dupont. Then we headed over to U Street, where we ended the night with a jumbo slice. I’m the worst when it comes to drunk food. I always end up eating pizza at some point.
Sunday I did my meal planning and grocery shopping. Then we took Kidd to the dog park in the afternoon and I made Shredded Red Curry Chicken with Slaw for dinner. We capped the day off with a nice bike ride down to Baskin Robbins.
I love Baskin Robbins. Although every time I go there I think of this fantastic scene. Not that I’m complaining. I love that movie.
